Cat's Cradle
"They say the cats are ageless; the hands that forged and fastened their armor are forgotten to history. Our forebears must have been giants to control such beasts, grown large to surpass some harsh challenge set by the world. But the giants are gone, and the chains on their beasts have broken, and likewise we are broken. Scattered among rocks, crushed in our armor, pristine blades flung from our hands having struck neither in provocation or response. If those who follow us are not giants, then we shall be followed by none at all."
